Unfortunately, the previous Onion article about HP, which was even funnier, is no longer available online. That one was titled "Millions of children turn to Satanism due to Harry Potter" and was illustrated by a painfully cute pic of some pre-adolescent kids in make-believe witch and wizard costumes playing with toy wands and cauldrons, with "AVADA KEDARVA" written in blood on the wall behind them next to a still-dripping pentagram also inked with blood. It was a funny and sarcastic skewering of the kind of idiots who worry that HP fans will try out the spells, find they actually work, and thus become ensnared in a life of devil-worship, obscene sexual rites, and eternal damnation. Of course, the spells don't work and there is no actual devil
They're right about the obscene sexual rites, though, to judge by a very disturbing pic I saw on the Shrine of Snape. Something involving a young Severus Snape, a stipper pole, and a speedo...it's gonna take years of poweful Adlerian therapy to remove that image from my nightmares. Shudder...

As evidenced by your obsessive need to remind me of its existence. And I was so trying to repress it.... *sighs*
