Well, Lorpy...your question about whether or not Vipers have ejection seats has been answered. This week, Starbuck was forced to eject from her crippled Mark II Viper in the atmosphere of an alien planet. We still don't know if the seats work in space, but since she separated from her chair as it fell and her suit didn't seem to have thrusters on it, I think they are designed primarily for in-atmosphere ejections.

But those suits definitely have their own atmosphere, which basically means there was no reason the pilots in the miniseries shouldn't have ejected.
Also, she didn't seem to have a parachute, either, I wonder how she's going to survive that fall...

They'd probably have just been strafed anyways...and ejecting would have just meant the cylons didn't need to waste the missiles to kill their ships. So instead of trying to save their own necks for another 30 seconds of life, they spent every last second they had trying to turn their ships back on and fire back. Except for CAG, that girl thingy just panicked and tried to hide behind his own chair, and probably was too afraid to even remember whether or not he had an ejector seat in the first place. Also, she didn't seem to have a parachute, either, I wonder how she's going to survive that fall... I'm wondering that as well.

Yes, I'm sure that was their exact, perfectly reasoned-through train of thought while the missiles were closing in. And if the missiles were already targeted at the ship, ejecting could have only meant the cylons would waste more ammo.
