Also in the news, Hulk Hogan apparently doesn't know that roosters are male, or he wouldn't name his "Lilly". It could always be named for Eli Lilly.... Nah. ;D

FARK.com has done yet another Photoshop contest using a chicken-related theme. This one involves an old photo of a University of Delaware glee club and mascot...a mascot that is, of course, a chicken. forums.fark.com/cgi/fark/comments.pl?IDLink=1380918Enjoy.

Chickens it seems are smarter than dogs. Granted, that's not setting the bar very high (just kidding, Sirius...), but it's still smarter than we used to think chickens were. observer.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,6903,1431443,00.html

You'd better just be kidding. ::growl:: Hey, at least they know enough to not clean their own rectal sphincters with their own tongues...and won't eat their own vomit or excrement...or the droppings of other animals...

A man who raises Chickens to show them off at state fairs calls them "God's Greatest Creation". He'd be the perfect match for Lolua if he wasn't old enough to be her grandfather. Ugh... not only is he too old, but I think he might be something of a pervy chicken fancier. "Chickens have always been my favorite creation. They're perfect. God's greatest creation. As long as you have some, you'll make it ... you have meat, eggs and reproduction. I don't know what I'd do without it." Or am I the only one who found something creepy in the redundancy of "eggs" and "reproduction"?

Hehehe.... perhaps I should write the Dutch government and ask if they need a warm home to send any healthy refugees.... y'know, just to keep them out of harm's way, like Londoners sending their children to the countryside during the blitz.... I could be the Digory Kirke of poultry! ;D

Scientists have determined that pterosaurs grew to be bigger than previously thought, reaching wingspans of up to 60 feet (previous record was 40-some feet). This wouldn't be a chicken link, but the artists'-impression pic the BBC used to illustrate this story looks like the biggest, meanest mutant chicken in history. news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/4223658.stm

Someone stole 35 chickens from a coop in the town of Newton, Connecticut, a town with a chicken on its city seal. In an unrelated story, Mlle Bienvenu looked nervous and shifty-eyed when asked what she's getting Lolua for her birthday in a couple of weeks. www.newtownbee.com/News.asp?s=News-2005-09-22-14-18-59p1.htm
