It was a big news day for Harry Potter fans as several forms of behind-the-scenes info for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire became available.
VCR Alert. The first trailer for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will premiere, in pieces, during the network broadcast premiere of the extended Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on ABC this Saturday (7pm Eastern, 6pm central).
What exactly "in pieces" means, remains to be seen.
In addition to the trailer, Saturday's broadcast of CoS will be hosted by Dan Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, and is supposed to have additional behind-the-scenes footage.
Trailer premiere. At any rate, the complete trailer will be transmitted by satellite on Sunday and appear Monday on apple.com, where you'll probably need Quicktime to view it. I'm hoping it will get re-encoded into Windows Media Player format, either by HP fan sites or by other movie info outlets, sometime soon after. The trailer will also hit theaters on Friday, May13th attached to the next Will Ferrell vehicle, Kicking and Screaming. So if you could stand to buy tickets for Looney Tunes: Back in Action in order to see the Prisoner of Azkaban trailer in theaters, you should probably plan on making a repeat visit next weekend. And bring the MindWipes.
Footage of interviews and filming. CBBC posted film footage and interviews with the three kids, which, if you have RealPlayer, you can view here: news.bbc.co.uk/cbbcnews/hi/newsid_4510000/newsid_4513200/4513265.stm.
TLC has transcripts of the interviews here: www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/MTarchives/week_2005_05_01.html#006944
Thanks to DanRadcliffe.com, there's a Windows Media Player version of the report that aired on BBC1 in the UK (right-click and "Save Target As..."): www.danradcliffe.us/videos/bbc1_newsround2_may2005.wmv
Print publicity. This morning USA Today did the same thing they did for the Prisoner of Azkaban film, which is kick off the early media frenzy. The article featured our first up-close look at the actual goblet from Goblet of Fire and the accompanying interview with Daniel Radcliffe confirmed that he will return for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
