So, a couple of weeks ago, primary shooting began for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Today, Potter news site The Leaky Cauldron (TLC) exclusively released pages from the shooting script.

TLC Reader Tracy went to Ashridge, where we recently reported that the filming on the Portkey scene was going to be taking place, and came back with a whole lot to show for it.

Tracy was handed five pages from the Goblet of Fire shooting script, detailing the First Task, which was filmed the week prior. We have independently confirmed that they are authentic. Some of the pages have been altered to erase an identification number; the text of the script has not been changed.

Edit: and for the umpteenth time, KILL THE MUGGLE-FARKING RASSA-FRASSING CENSORSHIP! It's messing with image and link URL's now, and gee, you'd have to think that maybe on a Potter-centric board, we'd occasionally be linking to URL's that would have the abbreviations for the book titles (such as "GOLF" minus the "L", since I can't even type the abbreviation to discuss the matter without the darn censorship program auto-replacing it like it was a cussword. Brilliant idea to add abbreviations to that, thanks, that really helps a lot...) in them.

No, you're just fumble-fingered. For example. using the "censored words" I've set up, the abbreviation doesn't post as the full thing ("GoF" to "Goblet of Fire") unless there's a semicolon (";") in front of it. So, if a book were called Harry Potter and the Pillar of Storgé, you could enter "Harry Potter and the ;PoS" and it would post as "Harry Potter and the Pillar of Storgé".

Therefore, you must have typed a semicolon by mistake in your link, so it wouldn't have worked anyway.

I've got the system set up for the five books. I will probably add HBP and the schoolbooks (Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them and Quidditch Through the Ages) now that I'm thinking about it.

Mlle helped me come up with the system. (Thanks again, Mlle!) It's quite a time-saver for me.

One thing of note, regarding the "tree stunt":

Later on one of the security dudes talked us through a scene that they filmed earlier in a different part of the wooded area which involved Mr Weasley, Harry, Ron, Hermione and Fred and George walking up to a big tree to meet Cedric Diggory and Amos Diggory. When they first meet, Cedric is apparently sitting up in the big tree and jumps down during the scene. I didn’t see the scene myself, that is how the security dude told it to us.

I was also told previously that the big tree was the Whomping Willow. This doesn’t fit in with what actually happens in the scene so I’m not sure if that information was correct.

My guess ( = my desperate hope) is that he means they're re-using scenery: what had been the Whomping Willow, in CoS or in PoA, has now been brought to this location shoot as the tree Cedric hops down from. It's probably much easier to take apart than a normal, on-location tree, so they can get the best camera angles for Cedric. ;D

A couple of things...

A Harry Potter 'shipping site (I won't link, the idea might turn your stomach) somehow got studio stills of the actual filming described above, not just pictures of the cast lounging around during breaks. They are intensely boring pictures of the 7 members of the Weasley Portkey Party (Ginny, Hermione, Ron, Harry, Fred, George, and Arthur) walking from the Burrow to the top of Stoatshead Hill to meet the Diggorys and take the Portkey to the Quidditch World Cup.

A few notes:

• What is that thing one of the twins is carrying? Looks like our first peek at the Omnioculars!
  
• Harry appears to be wincing and grabbing his scar. Perhaps the filmmakers are saving on screen time by giving Harry his vision of Voldemort, Wormtail, and Frank Bryce (who, to my knowledge, hasn't been cast, so he might not appear) at "The Riddle House" during the walk to Stoatshead Hill.

In other news, MuggleNet has an unconfirmed set report which talks about filming of the Pensieve scene in Courtroom 10 of the Ministry of Magic. I'm excited that the scene doesn't seem to be cut, but I am also slightly worried about the set decoration. It's also more evidence that Bagman has been completely cut from the script.

All of the Diagon Alley set (inc. Honeydukes) has gone, possibly into storage, so didn't get to see that but the room in which the trial takes place is amazing. It isn't very big and it's round with gold medieval painted walls and a cage for Crouch Jnr. and Karkaroff in the middle.

The set is the most amazing thing I've EVER seen.
All the seats are raised in tiers, just like in the book and its all been made in a huge octagonal shape. The most amazing thing is the use of fire - real fire. There is a huge fireball lit in each corner and is used for the effect of the flames - its awesome and made to look from the 360 degree camera as though its in Dumbledore's memory (which of course it is).
Wow, I wish you could all get a picture of it, words cannot describe the effect.Made of course to look as though Harry has gone back in time, imagine Dickens and all those old bookshops, or Ollivanders, stacked full of items, this is the effect of the court, full, stacked with mountains of papers!.The artwork and set decoration of the court room is immense, it looks ancient, Byzantium times, the old ruined golden paintings and the realism was great.
But, THE greatest prop was the "cage" Karakoff has to stand in, so much like a torture chamber, guards standing around him, prodding and poking him, turning head screws when he wouldn't give up the names of the other Death Eaters. These are guards from Azkaban and NOT Dementors as with the original book, police type figures for the escorting of Prisoners.
The cage is something like a medieval cage evil men were put in alive to rot. He doesn't actually go into the cage or come in with it, instead, he comes up from the ground, shoots up into it!. There's two of these police type around him, to wind the screws in harder, he cannot move a centimetre !, they stand either side, to torture him and prod him! they are dressed in black, army style, almost like the old German Gestapo. They have a big silver badge that reads, ministry of magic, police, with a weird looking creature pictured.

Only one final comment for now, Miranda Richardson, dressed in 1950's Hollywood style is just superb as the evil Rita Skeeter.

HP4U and CBBC Newsround both have reports and seven photographs each from this week's on-location filming at Oxford's New College and Bodleian Library. Judging by the raingear, soaked roofs, presence of Moody's stand-in, I'm guessing the footage is for the students' entry before the Sorting Feast and for Moody's arrival. Actors spotted on set include Dame Maggie Smith (McGonagall), Jamie Waylett (Crabbe), and Josh Herdman (Goyle).

There wasn't any time to get autographs today as everyone were bustled in and out of the cars and buses that were waiting for them.
Rupert as always, is the perfect gent, always finding time to say hello, no-matter what the hurry.
What we know of the Oxford shoot is amazing! The town was used for the filming of [Harry Potter and] the Philosopher's Stone, the courtyard of the New College indeed is where Hedwig flew in many of his scenes. But for 2004, Filming has been underway for -- ready for it? -- Malfoy's clash with Moody and his transformation into the Ferret! The Defence against the Darks arts class scenes have also just been filmed. We don't know if the spider scene was shot as we were unable to see any filming, but what we did see, in Ron Weasley's own words, was 'bloody brilliant'.
There is the most amazing gramophone being used on set, absolutely huge, but where this is situated on set we don't know yet. There is a monkey here for filming, why? Again, we couldn't find out, but remember, you saw it here first!
Most of the main cast were here, Dame Maggie Smith, all the main cast children, Michael Gambon, of course Brendan Gleeson and many others.

Two other tidbits from HP4U's set reports:

• "The stadium has already been built on-set at Leavesden for the Tri-Wizard Tournament. Most is in the hangar, some is still on the runway, it's huge!"
• The First Task "is being shot over the coming two weeks up in Bonny Scotland as reported by Wizard News."

Jamie Waylett (Crabbe) had this to say on his official website about filming in Oxford:

As usual it rained, it seems that it always rains when we are on location.

I spent nearly the whole week filming just one scene, with Maggie Smith, Brendan Gleeson, Tom, Josh and Dan, it was great fun, I really enjoyed it.

Brendan Gleeson was great, he is very friendly, funny man who plays the part of Mad-Eye Moody.

As you will know, I'm not allowed to say too much about the filming, but I think that scene could turn out to be one of the funniest scenes in all of the movies!

I know I've missed posting some non-filming set location shots of Black Rock Gorge and that place near the south coast, but I dunno, I wasn't terribly excited by them. Perhaps I lack the imagination to picture what Mike Newell intends to use those sites as a backdrop for.

However, MuggleNet (through Emma-Watson.net and two helpful scanner-equipped readers) has obtained some Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire set photos, recently printed in News of the World, showing:

• the First Task dragon enclosure;
  
• that funny covered bridge house/chapel-looking thing that sprouted up on the Hogwarts grounds for PoA, and which was the backdrop for Hermione's Malfoy-punching episode;
  
• a semi-circular section of grandstand (unclear if it's from the Triwizard Tasks or the Quidditch World Cup);
  
• and, last but by no means least, the field full of Quidditch World Cup tents. Woot!

MuggleNet reader Kaye Harvey sent in almost 60 photos of GoF set pieces on the grounds of Leavesden Studios. Mostly they show Quidditch World Cup tents and the stadium that has been constructed. These images are closer and mostly clearer than the overviews linked in my previous post.
