He doesn't look very snake-like, but make up is a wonderful thing. And he has the evil eyes. I enjoyed him being evil in Red Dragon.
My husband says that he's not evil looking enough, or the he just doesn't look like Voldemort. I can see that. But I think he'll be okay.
I hope he'll be okay... I thought what's his face looked alright as Lupin too... ack I have bad taste, don't listen to me.

My husband says that he's not evil looking enough, or the he just doesn't look like Voldemort. I can see that. But I think he'll be okay. HP fans have been hard at work digging up scary pictures of Ralph Fiennes to share and manipulate into scary Lord Snake-Face avatars. Judging by the ones I've seen, his evil eyes may well be what landed Ralph the role. *shudder* I hope he'll be okay... I thought what's his face looked alright as Lupin too... ack I have bad taste, don't listen to me. The really disturbing thing is that before any Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban casting decisions had been made, there was a fan movement backing Ralph Fiennes to play Remus Lupin. Somewhere I even have a fan-made trailer for the PoAfilm which used extracted bits of long-haired Ralph from Strange Days for Lupin. I liked David Thewlis as Lupin looks-wise, too. He elicited a *squee* or two from me, and I was thankful he wasn't wearing a fake nose and a blond wig like in Dragonheart or a Quaker hat and a somber expression like in Restoration. But I'm hoping Ralph Fiennes will be able to borrow evilness from his other villainous roles and that his Lord Voldemort will make his Amon Goeth ( Schindler's List) look like a piker.
