Hi everyone, please use this thread to share external reviews of the PoA film that you find amusing, silly, wrong, good, bad, or interesting. **** MOVIE SPOILERS WARNING **** (of course) Dan Hoppel (one of the better regular columnists on MuggleNet) posted a review of PoA which I mostly agree with: www.mugglenet.com/editorials/gryffindortower/gt20.shtmlThe only thing I really disagree with is the bit about Michael Gambon not being as good at Dumbledore as Richard Harris was. (See Michael Gambon thread for my rant about that.) Also, Big Brother sent me this review, which makes no sense as a review and accordingly ended up on Fark.com, the goofy news website: www.visaliatimesdelta.com/news/stories/20040608/localnews/599592.htmlMostly a waste of electrons, if you ask me. The only good thing I can say about it is that its author seems actually to have read the HP books, unlike most reviewers who just pretend to.

Sci-fi author Orson Scott Card ( Ender's Game series, etc.) reviewed Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: www.hatrack.com/osc/reviews/everything/2004-06-06.shtmlI don't think Chris Columbus's movies were all that un-magical, and I think that for Chris Columbus movies, they were really good. (Which probably says a lot.) Again, I fail to see the "twinkle" of Richard Harris's Dumbledore, but oh well. However, I do agree with OSC that filling his shoes was, for Michael Gambon, a thankless task.
