Amusing concept. Distubingly like the "Adam's Ark" concept that eventually became "Battlestar Galactica". Are you aware that there already IS a series called "Andromeda", created by Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star Trek? And that it was at one point a possible contender to be the series that eventually became TNG? I was once a somewhat-important figure in Andromeda fandom...until they fired all the good writers on the show and sent it squarely down the toilet. Darn Canadians strike again. Anyways, while I was still a big Andromeda fan, I created one of the first and best Andromeda fansite FAQ's, which in its day was the equivalent of the HP Lexicon. www.geocities.com/andromedafaq/index.htmlI have since abandoned this site and turned it over to a friend who, as far as I can see, hasn't done anything with it but change the name after the copyright notice to his. Sigh.

Yeah, I've watched a few episodes of Andromeda...but I chose that as the title purely because Andromeda is the closest galaxy to the Milky Way.... I didn't, however, know that it was the precurser concept to TNG. LOL.... Have you watched Earth: Final Conflict?

I didn't, however, know that it was the precurser concept to TNG. Yup, one of the proposals for the series that eventually became TNG was for a starfleet vessel, the USS Andromeda, to become trapped in time during a Klingon invasion. Three centuries later, it would escape only to find that the Klingon invasion had destroyed the Federation, and this lone starfleet vessel (under the command of Starfleet Captain Dylan Hunt) would then try to rebuild civilization and restore the United Federation of Planets. The first couple of episodes were pretty weak...but the last 2/3 of the first season kicked all manner of bootay. Second and third seasons had their good points. Fourth season was weak again. Fifth season was an utter abomination that should have never, ever been made. The rotating cast of "heroes" was an annoyance, but Sandoval is one of the all-time great TV sci-fi villains.

Hmm, intriguing, hehe... My b/f came up with his own idea for a new ST series, actually. It's set after Nemesis, and he calls it "Star Trek: Xenon Class". He'd have to explain it all though
